FAQ

Do I need to attend a trial for the football academy?

Ideally yes. We would like to meet and assess players to understand your ability and needs.

 How long is the course?

Depending on which course you choose, you will achieve your qualification in one or two years.

These are stimulating  vocational courses, covering an expansive range of topics, including Fitness for Sport and Exercise, Anatomy and Physiology for Sports Performance, Lifestyle and Well-being, and Injury and the Sports Performer. Students will be assessed via a combination of controlled assessments and both internally and externally marked written and practical assessments.

 Where will I train?

Our learning facilities at Southbury Leisure Centre, Enfield have both grass and 3G pitches, for you to train. You will also have the option to train, play matches and complete your education at Wingate & Finchley FC, Barnet.

 Where will I study?

Education will be held in a professional and clean classroom environment, at the same location as your training.

Will I be able to get trials at semi pro and pro clubs?

With our Academy Director and Head Coach being an ex pro with secured links to higher level clubs and also a first team manager at a semi pro club, the chance is most certainly there! We also have a direct partnership with Wingate & Finchley FC and links to many other clubs, meaning the pathway into higher level football is definitely available to our students! Your progression will depend heavily on your own drive, dedication and commitment to the course.

What qualification will I leave with and what jobs can I get?

BTEC Level 1 and 2 in Sport and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, Coaching and Fitness.

Progression into university to study a sports degree, UK and Overseas Football Scholarships and full time work in the sports industry will all be viable options once qualified.

Job roles include Football Coach, Nutritionist, Fitness Instructor/ Personal Trainer, Sports Coach, PE Teaching and Physiotherapist.

We can also guide you to getting your FA coaching and refereeing badges.

Will I get a kit and tracksuit?

This is a FREE course. Students will however be required to purchase training kit and tracksuit, available online at our Club Shop.
