Course length: 2 years Course Level: 3 Extended Diploma Assessment Method - 100% Coursework
Students can progress onto this course after completing the BTEC Level 2 qualification or if they have achieved 5+ GCSE grades 5 and above, or the equivalent. This course is designed to deepen students understanding of how a range of components work closely together to ensure and develop optimum sporting performance of athletes. You will build on your work experience in year two by carrying out a high quality work placement at an approved sports facility. Our coaches and tutors will be on hand throughout every step of our students journey to ensure that they fully understand the potential career pathways and are equipped to achieve their sporting ambitions.
Units Covered include Principles of Anatomy and physiology, Assessing risk in sport, Fitness training and programming, Sports Coaching and Development and more.
Progression includes university entry, UK and Overseas Scholarships and Full-time work in the Sports and Fitness industry.
Career opportunities include playing and coaching in professional sports, Personal Training, Sports Therapy, Teaching in schools/colleges, Physiotherapist and more.
